LASIK Operation and Application Steps

First of all, you need to have a detailed eye examination. Thanks to this eye examination, the suitability of your eye is checked and the details of the treatment are determined. After the specialist doctor’s examination, the process begins with the decision.

How Does the Operation Proceed?

  • Anesthetic drops are dripped into the patient’s eye and the eye tissue is numbed. Numbing the eye tissue prevents the patient from feeling pain and soreness.
  • After the eye is anesthetized, the lid is lifted from the cornea with a tool called a microkeratome. In other words, a corneal flap is created.
  • Excimer laser beams are sent to the tissue under the lifted lid to eliminate the patient’s eye defect.
  • Afterwards, the opened lid is closed again and the procedure is completed.

The fact that the patient does not feel any pain or ache during the application and the need for general anesthesia are among the factors that make LASIK operation advantageous. We can also say that it is important for the patient to start to see improvements in a short time. We can see that satisfactory improvement in vision is offered within a very short time after the operation.
